Man: Victoria’s Food Bowl is one massive veggie patch!
Vision: He picks a few ripe tomatoes from the vine and places them in a crate.
Man: It’s where they produce 96% of Victoria’s tomatoes…
Vision: Cut to him picking fruit then adding them to the crate.
Man: …90% of Victoria’s stone fruit…
…and a quarter of Australia’s dairy.
But old leaky irrigation channels mean that almost a third of their water is lost.
Female voiceover: Victoria’s irrigation upgrade will save up to 425 billion litres of water per year.
Vision: He takes a bite from an apple as he proudly inspects his handy work.
